Serena worked as a paediatric oncology nurse before re-training and completing a Masters of Art Therapy, which included art psychotherapy and counselling training.
Serena has facilitated social skills groups through play for Autism NZ and Cloud 9 Children's Foundation. The Cloud 9 Clubs are in their 12th year and continue to be popular with autistic children and teenagers. Between 2012 and 2016, Serena worked for Skylight Trust in the roles of Counselling Team Leader and Grief Counsellor. Serena worked as a counsellor at the Wellington branch of the Cancer Society (2016-2019). Serena has been in private practice since April 2009. Serena currently works in the roles of grief counsellor and art therapist at Te Omanga Hospice. |
